6 things to do between trips
22:36Sometimes we don't have time to constantly travel, and having to stay at home with its routine can be not that exciting. However, we can always find something interesting to do, and feel as if we are making a fine journey.
1) Postcrossing.
The perk of the postcrossing lies in its connecting-people ability. You return home, check your mail and unexpectedly find a real postcard, each time from the other country with some warm words from the unseen yet friend. It's very cool if you enjoy good old mail : letters and postcards. Apart from getting a nice collection of pictures of different places you can meet new friends who share your hobbies or lifestyle. 2) Exchange Students' events.
There are always some places of exchange students' gathering. That can be cafes, clubs, home parties, dance parties etc. People are new to the city yet and go there to get acquainted with others and form new circles of friends.3) Couchsurfing meetings.
What can be more travel-inspiring if not talking to travellers, who are superopen to other people, want to get in touch with locals and can tell dozens of travelling stories or just some useful tipps? They can be weird, they can be fun, old or young, but for sure, they will certainly arouse your desire to go somewhere far away. Apart from that, you can meet another hosts, who live in your own city and have some common goals for travelling.4) Being a tourist in your own city
Yes-yes, you can just take a camera, your best friend for more confidence, if you wish, and go exploring your own hometown. There are so many options you can use: discovering new details, which you always used to overlook, while rushing to work or university, and experiencing the hospitality of your people.
Taking free tours in your own city will always be a cool thing to hear some interesting new legends or stories about historical past, talk to the tourists and meet new people.
5) Making a list of the places you are going to visit next.
One of the most exciting things to do is planning the next trip: finding places to stay, sights to visit, getting tipps, watching videos, reading reviews of others, checking photos.6) Recording past experiences
There are so many ways to record and memorise past experiences!- Writing a travel diary or re-reading it is a nice way of recalling funny and pleasant moments from your last trips.
- Printing out photos and putting it to the album or making a huge collage will help to visually recreate the places you've been to.
- Listening to the songs that accompanied you while you were going to your destination, since it's really marvellous how music can bring certain feelings and emotions back to us.
- Pinning the visited places on your big world map.
- Compiling video reportages from your trip and making it one big funny video.
- Storing different tickets, city guides, leaflets and other interesting and beautiful stuff.
