A little cosy village of Zermatt is hidden in the gorgeous snowy mountains that create their own cloud above by melting from a soft touch of the spring sun. Despite its size it's very famous and is one of the main places one should visit in case one wants to take a look at the Swiss "sweetest" Toblerone Mountain - Matterhorn
To start with, the train journey to Zermatt already offers a miraculous view of the mountain chain, revealing its diversity, steep slopes that lead to little wild streams and waterfalls and little wooden chalets scattered around on the top of the lower summits.
I would describe Zermatt as one big first-class souvenir shop. However it's main perk is there for free. It's a pleasure for eyes to watch so much greenery and for lungs to bring fresh cool air.
Wooden and stone chalets bring a fairytale atmosphere to the place, however they seem quite vulnerable for winters.
Plenty of wander trails lead deep into the woods, where far more rivers, hills, trees and sheep herds are to be discovered.
If I could name the calmest and most harmonious place I have visited so far, it would probably be any trail I took into the woods here. It's quite impressive how developed infrastructure combines with wild nature and furthermore it's an excellent example of how smart human treatment can make the best out of nature without harming it.
My heart always beats for mountains and no troubles can bother much while I have opportunity to watch them.
