The week 2 had successfully ended and we were to go to Krakow. Finally having found the right BP tour bus we left our dear Lublin and went on for another pile of emotions and discoveries. We arrived at 5pm and after having some rest we headed to see the night Krakow...It was amazing: streets full of tourists, dozens of cafes around, glimmering flying things in the night sky, different styles of music from every corner. The same as Gdansk the city was made for having a good time. The romantic atmosphere was created by beautiful horses who were harnessed in carriages.
We lived in a hostel "Schronisko"which closed at 12 am. The very first day we had a Cinderella story. Having enjoyed the evening, we didn't notice the time, so we decided to check our watch and saw 11.45 pm...that is 15 minutes till we had to be at our hostel, no trams going at that time already and yeah...we didn't actually know where our hostel was. So what we did was Ready...Steady...Run! After some 10 minutes we found ourselves somewhere out of the city centre without the exact address of our hostel. We didn't get desperate, however, and asked the frontman of the nearest hotel about the road. Lucky as we usually were, we saw that we were very near our hostel, so in 5 minutes our sprint was over.
We visited a castle, Krakow dragon, different churches and cathedrals, and the whole city centre.
The very next day we decided to go to Auschwitz, one of the most well known former concentration camps.
It was extremely hard to hear about the terrible things that were going there, especially after being in entertaining mood before. The guide told us about everything that was happening there and induced us to take the pain of those people close to our hearts. We were silently observing the roundabouts and were uncheerful for a while after leaving that place. Being under strong influence of the things we'd seen, we decided to visit a Schindler's factory.
That was the most impressive museum I've ever seen.
One can't keep from completely diving into the history. The "factory" had many departments, which were decorated in a certain way that it depicted different aspects of life during the World War II. We had opportunity to walk through different aisles, read extra information, touch the clothes of that time, stamp some military tickets that bore additional information about specific dates, walk on the pile of stones and contemplate weapons, hear the announcements from the loudspeakers, approach the train and many other things.
In the end of the day we started our karaoke time, going along the streets and singing all popular songs, lyrics of which we more or less knew( Maroon 5 was the leader in the songs performed).Next stop was Warsaw, which was waiting for us in a week.
After coming back home we established a nice tradition of watching movies in our room, creating so-called home cinema with the help of projector and someone's white blanket. The first movie we watched in such a way was Schindler's factory, since we were deeply moved by our Krakow trip.
