Living a dream in Taiwan: Taipei's tallest iron lady
21:28
This picture perfectly expresses amount of impression that I've got from my sojourn in Taiwan. Taipei 101, which looks like a lady in an elegant dress and is the landmark of Taiwan's capital, was the only place, where we didn't manage to go up and see the view upon a city.
As a real lady, "she" is not that easy to get to, so the only thing that was left for us to do was to enjoy her charm as close as we could.
LOVE signs are scattered all around Taipei and I can say million reasons why it the most logical thing to be there:
The city is full of love itself
Hot weather, nice surrounding, lots of unconventional things on the streets and in the shops, cute advertisements take the mood up by default.Locals are open and willing to help
The Taiwanese make an impression of people with a limitless heart. Don't they understand a word you are saying? Not a problem! They will try to get you somewhere even if it is a completely wrong direction! But we just couldn't be mad at them for that...just...couldn't.
And, of course, one can't but fall in love with this city and this country.
Concrete Jungles are harmoniously combined with green parks of plants. I can describe it as "imagine that your house plants that require special care just out of a sudden start randomnly growing on the streets"
Though Taipei 101 didn't let us in, there was another amazing place - elephant hill, full of stairs, where we could climb up and get a stunning view upon the city at night and Taipei 101 itself.
Tamsui district is the best place to watch sunset, enjoy the coast being merged into twilight. We almost missed the sun, since it took us more than 40 minutes to get there by subway. One can usually define a touristic spot by presence of a big number of people making pictures, locals who are trying to sell you some unnecessary stuff that you think is for free, and different entertainment such as street singers and bands.
Love bridge in Tamsui district bursts with variety of colours, and I would rather call this bridge a rainbow one, but wait...yeah.... they already have a Rainbow Bridge in Taipei, which is simply red. Such distribution of names is still quite confusing for me.One of the best decisions was to take a ferry to the Fisherman's Wharf. We were really lucky to visit this charming place at night. All the lights, booths with food, people wandering around and music from different corners create a very cozy and warm atmosphere.
An ideal place for an ideal evening.
